Michael is off to Boston this morning with 6 kids and 2 interns for their Spring Break trip! Jersey does one week in March instead of February and April breaks, and traditionally the junior high after-school programs of UrbanPromise go away for the week. The kids work to earn the trip through your usual means (coming to camp, good behaviour, working on homework, participation, good grades etc). Each director is allowed to choose where they want to take their kids and they all work to fundraise for the trips together.
Dana is taking her group to Pittsburg then on to Virginia, Albert took his group to Disney World, and Michael is off to our home state. He's got a jam-packed week of activities planned for them, including two days in Boston (Duck Tour, Science Musuem, Freedom Trail, Quincy Market), an evening in one of my favorite cities, Providence, a trip up to Mt. Monadnock, and some time just hanging out at their home-base, Worcester First Assembly. It's bound to be a great time of bonding, new experiences and lots of laughter!
Meanwhile, I've got some plans of my own...getting together with colleagues tonight, driving a friend to the airport tomorrow, meeting Lisa for a drink tomorrow night and all sorts of tofu recipes to try, sushi to eat and girly movies to watch (hoping to see "Atonement" and "Love in the Time of Cholera", I just read both of those books). I'll be busy and safe and content!
Please keep Mike and the other groups in prayer this week as they travel. I can't wait to share stories with you when he returns!

Duck Tour?? Did I just read that? Something we STILL have yet to do, haha probably because we would get lost trying to find them (ok the real reason is the only time the two of us get together is at stinkin Christmas time and its way to cold), haha. Love ya
wishing i was there to catch up on all the chick flick watching i still have to do (and reading)...miss you so much! WHEN are we going to live next door to each other again? seriously.
I think I should come see you this weekend :) All your chick stuff sounds fun...oh but maybe I'll need to crash Mike's group on the Duck tours. I second Jenny's comments about it being something that still need to be done.
Jenny: Seriously.
Missy: Hey, you're the one that moved away! Oh wait, no, that was me.
Amanda: Can't wait to see you in a month or so!
