We're heading "home" to Lynn tomorrow for the weekend to see my sisters and family (and see my favorite musician in concert, http://www.jasonharrod.com/) so I won't be blogging for a few days. So don't panic. (Yes, ladies, that's him, he's cute, an extremely talented musician, and as far as I can tell, single.)

The final reveal and taping
of Extreme is this Sunday, we won't be here for it as we had previously planned to be away, but I'm sure it's going to be a highly emotional and exciting day! Pray for Billy-Joe's family's safe return from Spain and for all with the house to be right. We're excited for them, and are interested to see what this will lead to for the city and UrbanPromise.

Each Thursday night is their camp planning night, and we had them over for pizza and TV as our internet and cable were hooked up today. I was reminded of what a good group of people they are, such good hearts, so willing to serve others and with such good attitudes. Their love for the kids they've worked with this summer was so evident in the funny and touching stories they shared tonight. I hope that they each leave UrbanPromise knowing that they have caused the ripple effect to move even farther out than before, that they have touched lives for eternity because they have so willingly shared Christ. To Sullivan, Wes, Jessica, Courtney, Hannah and Rachel...we love each of you and will miss you so much when you leave us in 2 short weeks. Take what you've learned of life and of God while here and allow it to affect your life-for the rest of your life. May you be different because of the time you've spent in Camden. Thank you for all of your hard work, and for standing by my husband and supporting him, encouraging him, laughing with him and challenging him this summer. You are loved!
On an entirely different vain, I want to thank Mt Hope Church for their generous and thoughtful goodbye gift to us of this computer that I'm sitting at now. We lived for several years without one at home (and that meant a lot of running to the library or to my sisters' houses to use theirs), and it's such a nice feeling to be able to stay connected while at home. Thank you, Pastor Rick, for thinking of this! We appreciate your thoughtfulness.OH! Exciting news! Tomorrow morning I have Round #2 of interviews with the HR department at Campbell's Soup. They're looking for a Full Time Scheduling Coordinator in their "Canada Care" department. Basically, they're the people who receive the resumes submitted online for posted positions within the company, and they coordinate the travel for candidates to come in for interviews. There's a lot of interaction with people over the phone and orienting them to the building when they come for interviews/get hired, so it sounds like a great job for me! Much better than the Legal Dept where I stare at silent files all day! For now, it's a temporary position, so I won't work for Campbell's directly, but it's for 3-6 months and then should turn permanent. Pray with me at 8:15 tomorrow morning! (Mostly pray my coffee has kicked in by then! Yes, I've become addicted again. It's bad. At 95 cents a cup at our work cafeteria, who can say no?)
Please also be praying for Mike this weekend. He's had a rough week. He can't really put his finger on what is bugging him, but he just told me that he's been feeling, in my words, "out of sorts". He feels a heaviness of spirit right now, and thinks he's being attacked spiritually. Which is to be expected with what he's doing. Camp had a few particular rough spots this week that were exasperated by his not sleeping well and his general out-of-sort-ness. Please pray that this will be lifted, that he will be encouraged, and for a good weekend away. I think getting out of Camden for a few days and seeing family will help.
I was also thinking today of how I could make this blog a little more exciting and interesting to read. It occurs to me that simply having the time to sit at home and think about what I"m writing instead of dashing it off on someone else's computer will help. If you have any ideas, please post a comment. Maybe I'll do some sort of study once a week. How many ideas can I still from Kelly's blog? :-)
Anyway, that's a very long post. Sorry about that. Did you actually read the whole thing? I must drink my AirBorne and get to bed in hopes of not having to blow my nose all through my interview tomorrow. Mike will pick me up from work at 12:30 (we get out early on Fridays) and we'll hit the road towards Lynn! Yippee! Can't wait to see the nephews!
Until Monday!
Cheers!

Have a great weekend! Glad you're going to see Jason. I'm pretty sure he's single, too, but he's got enough baggage to get to London. :-( Maybe that's just a show for the "disheartened lovesick folk singer" image.
I think your blog is plenty exciting, but don't be afraid of "stealing" from me. I've stolen from plenty of other people. The only reason that I do a weekly study is for accountability reasons...so my blog doesn't descend into ho-hum unspiritual posts about...squirrels and the like.
Kelly,
Lots of baggage or just good lyrics? Hard to tell. :)
That's exactly why I want to start adding more on the spiritual side, so it's not just my random ramblings. And so it doesn't get redundant. ;)
